The chair of the Standing Committee on IT says the panel examined security concerns associated with Starlink; counters Elon Musk’s criticism of resistance to the satellite internet service’s entry into India

Reliance Industries has welcomed the entry of Elon Musk's Starlink into the Indian satellite communications market. The company clarified that it has never feared competition and is also awaiting clearances for its satellite services. Musk has alleged that Reliance benefits from monopolistic practices and has questioned regulatory barriers. The Indian government has stated that all companies must comply with existing laws and security requirements.
Stating that Jio’s own satellite services await clearances, the company said, “At Reliance, we have never feared competition. We see it as the truest test of who serves the customer best.”

The controversy began after Elon Musk, the SpaceX owner and Tesla CEO, publicly questioned the delay in allowing Starlink, his satellite internet company.
