Chief Minister’s remarks criticised as sexist and propagating gender stereotypes
Satheesan says he was misquoted as exclusively referring to daughters-in-law and that he had, in fact, asked mothers to share such recipes with 'their children and the person who comes as their son’s wife’
Satheesan reportedly flew aboard the helicopter from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi to visit his father-in-law, who was undergoing treatment. As Leader of the Opposition, he had criticised the then LDF government for its “extravagance” in hiring the helicopter.
In a sarcastic remark, V.D. Satheesan says he is ‘unaware that the previous Chief Minister' had observed a fast during the 2018 floods
"I had lunch at 3 pm. Was I not supposed to eat?" VD Satheesan said.
