J.C.D. Prabhakar says he had inquired with the individual MLAs to ascertain whether their resignations were voluntary and genuine
The Madras high court ruled that the resignations of six AIADMK MLAs were valid and voluntary. The speaker's acceptance of the resignations was deemed constitutionally appropriate under the Tenth Schedule. The court clarified that resignation and disqualification are separate constitutional processes within the governing framework. Additionally, it mandated the speaker to resolve pending disqualification proceedings within two months.
Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan, however, direct him to conclude the disqualification proceedings pending against four out of the six MLAs within two months
