Goodbye Ohio, hello Virginia: US navy's next-gen submarines to carry 40 Tomahawks
The US Navy is set to reclassify its future Virginia-class submarines as guided missile submarines, reflecting the substantial strike capabilities provided by the Virginia Payload Module. This innovative upgrade will succeed the aging Ohio-class submarines, with the new design allowing for a remarkable expansion in missile capacity and payload variety.
