NFL Cleveland Browns QB competition
National · 2 updates
Deshaun Watson throws six INTs in training camp amid QB battle with Shedeur Sanders
In the competition for the Cleveland Browns' quarterback position, Shedeur Sanders is reportedly taking the lead, demonstrating superior performance metrics compared to Deshaun Watson in early practice sessions. Watson has been hindered by interception issues during camp. However, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy appears to support Watson as the preferred starter. The coaching staff will have the final say in this pivotal decision.
Asante Samuel believes Shedeur Sanders is improving but still has habits that are hurting his chances to become the Browns’ starter. His comments came after Deshaun Watson unexpectedly took first-team reps. Samuel’s past feud with Deion Sanders makes the criticism more noticeable, but Todd Monken has not ended the quarterback competition yet.
